Greetings!
We’ve been asked by many of our customers for periodic, no-nonsense emails with just-in-time information for managers and knowledge workers on how organizations work. This is our 10th edition and we hope you enjoy it.

What We're Reading
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. J.K. Rowling, Arthur A. Levine Books; 1st edition (July 21, 2007).
Sometimes you just have to read books for the sheer joy of immersing yourself in an imaginary world. I love the story of how J.K. Rowling created this world, going from a single mother on welfare to one of the Great Britain’s richest women. But even more, I love the world she created and made so compelling that children who didn’t like to read, found themselves unable to put the book down. I saw all ages of people carrying the book around last weekend and it was a great source of camaraderie to ask ‘where they were in the book.’ That connection with strangers over a book attests to the brilliance of the author and her story.
This is a thinzine about leadership and the Harry Potter series has many examples of great leadership. However, I think looking at the book in that way somehow diminishes its great appeal. So instead of writing more in this thinzine, I encourage you to read the series. I have been amazed at how many people have told me they haven’t read any of the books so if you are one of those, pick up the first one and read the series in order. Other fans that I have polled agree; you will miss a lot of joy if you only read the last book.
The Thin Book® of Naming Elephants - On Sale in August!
Our featured product this month is The Thin Book of Naming Elephants. Although the book came out 3 years ago this month, Andrea and I continue to get emails from people who have just read it. The first printing of the Harry Potter book was only 1,000 copies. So, like J.K. Rowling, you always wonder if what you have created will have any impact on others. While we can’t claim her immense success or talent, it’s a great feeling to hear from people who found it enjoyable and worthy of the time invested in reading it.
To order, click here. It will be 10% off for the entire month of August..
